Fibroids and endometriosis affect millions—but for too long, Black women’s experiences have been overlooked, under-researched, and under-supported. This masterclass is about changing that.

Led by two obstetrics & gynaecology doctors Dr Isioma Okolo & Dr Emem Usoro, members of the NAUWU collective.

This session will explore how fibroids and endometriosis impact fertility, pregnancy, and birth outcomes, with a focus on empowering Black women to advocate for their health and navigate care systems with confidence.

What to expect

  • Expert insights,
  • Lived experiences,
  • Practical guidance on managing symptoms,
  • Understanding treatment options and preparing for pregnancy.

Whether you’re planning to conceive, currently pregnant, or supporting someone who is—this space is for you.

Let’s break the silence, share knowledge, and reclaim power over our reproductive health.

This session builds on insights from the KWISA-Lothian NAUWU Maternity Voices Report, highlighting the importance of culturally responsive care and informed decision-making in Black maternal health. We’ll also share free online resources to support you and your community in navigating your birthing journey with confidence and clarity before pregnancy.

Because when Black women lead the way, families—and communities—flourish. 🌻
