Join us for an empowering and informative session exploring pain relief options during labour, tailored for Black birthing people and their communities.

Led by two anaesthetic doctors Dr Krithi Ravi & Dr Julie Baruah-Young, members of the NAUWU collective.

This event will demystify both medical and non-medical pain management techniques—from epidurals to TENS machines and birthing pools. We’ll discuss how each option works, their effects on the birthing process, and how to make informed choices that honour your body, your baby, and your birth experience.

This session builds on insights from the KWISA-Lothian NAUWU Maternity Voices Report, highlighting the importance of culturally responsive care and informed decision-making in Black maternal health. We’ll also share free online resources to support you and your community in navigating your birthing journey with confidence and claritybefore pregnancy.

Because when Black women lead the way, families—and communities—flourish. 🌻
